New York Prevents Arbitration With Tommy Kahnle, Aaron Hicks

New York who fell to Houston last season in game seven of the American League Championship  Series has avoided arbitration with two players in  right -hander Tommy Kahanle and center fielder Aaron Hicks.

MLB Network insider Jon Heyman reported Kahnle and the Yankees agreed on a one-year, $1.3125 million deal, while Hicks settled on a $2.825 million contract for 2018, per ESPN. Hicks, 28, has spent the last two years with the Yankees, who acquired him in a trade with Minnesota for catcher John Ryan Murphy  prior to the 2016 season. A former first-round Draft pick in 2008, Hicks is entering his sixth year in the big leagues. He's hit .240/.326/.403 with 23 homers and 83 RBIs through 211 games in New York. Kahnle, 28, joined the Yankees in July along with Todd Frazier  and David Robertson  in a trade with the White Sox.
