Two right handed pitchers are starting for New York and Pittsburgh today in their Grapefruit League spring training game in Tampa Florida as Corey Kluber is going to get the start for the team that wears the pinstripes and JT Brubaker is going to start for Pittsburgh!
New York and Pittsburgh come into their spring game against one another in Tampa Florida with identical records .
Why?
Because they both have a record of 7-4 coming into this game!
The difference?
New York is in second place in the Grapefruit League standings while Pittsburgh is in third place.
Why?
Because New York topped Detroit by a score of 4-2 yesterday in Lakeland Florida where Jameson Taillon tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings in the Yanks’ 4-2 Grapefruit League victory.
Though,
The right handed pitcher didn’t exhibit sharp command, tossing 28 of 51 pitches for strikes while issuing three walks. But his stuff was good, as he permitted a pair of hits, struck out four and was clocked as high as 95.1 mph with his fastball. Taillon averaged 93.9 mph with his 28 heaters, also tossing 12 curveballs, nine sliders and two changeups. “according to an article by Bryan Hoch on mlb.com”
While Pittsburgh also won yesterday but unlike New York they topped Toronto by a score of 2-1!
First pitch is set for 1:05pm from George M. Steinbrenner Field!
The game is going to be televised on Yes!
