It’s the No.1 sports franchise in the world . It’s going to be a fun ride. I can’t wait to get there and just try to settle in as fast as I can.

In the finale in Bronx New York New York is going for the sweep of Boston!

Why?

Because New York comes into the finale with Boston a record of 68-52 and is second in the American League East and 5.0 games back of Tampa Bay who is leading the American League East because they swept Boston in the doubleheader yesterday, last night in Bronx New York.

Why?

New York swept Boston in the doubleheader in Bronx New York yesterday, last night!

Why?

Because New York won the opening game of the doubleheader by a score of 5-3!

Why?

In the fifth inning Luke Voit lifted a go-ahead, two-run single into shallow center field. Voit’s bloop hit followed one-out walks by Brett Gardner, Aaron Judge and Joey Gallo as the Red Sox were burned by an ineffective bullpen display, with Garrett Whitlock and Josh Taylor combining to fill the bases.

Giancarlo Stanton came off the bench to lace a 116.2 mph RBI single, extending New York’s lead as it batted around in the frame.

Then Jonathan Loaisiga navigated out of that bases-loaded, no-out jam, inducing a flyout and striking out the next two hitters to seal the Yankees’ 5-3, seven-inning victory over the Red Sox in the first game of a day-night doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

In the night game New York won by a score of 2-0!

Why?

Luis Gil who is a rookie pitched around around three hits and four walks over 4 2/3 innings, striking out four.

Offensively Luis Gil was supported by Giancarlo Stanton, Luke Voit who each homered.

To closeout the game Wandy Peralta recorded four huge outs in relief to keep Boston off the scoreboard and set the stage for Chad Green’s save. Peralta relieved Gil in the fifth, induced Rafael Devers to bounce into an inning-ending fielder’s choice.

Why?

Because they were swept by New York in the doubleheader yesterday, last night in Bronx New York!

Why?

In game one of the doubleheader Boston lost by a score of 5-3!

Why?

Alex Cora couldn’t find relief when he pulled Tanner Houck who started the game for Boston!

Why?

Garrett Whitlock struck out DJ LeMahieu before walking two straight batters and gave way to Josh Taylor, who has been nasty against lefties all season.

Then Luke Voit blooped in a single over the head -- and just out of the reach -- of second baseman Kiké Hernández. Hunter Renfroe, making his third career start in center field, wasn’t close enough to make a play. The two-run single gave the Yankees the lead back after Boston had moved in front on a solo homer by Christian Vázquez in the top of the fifth.

In game two of the doubleheader Boston lost by a score of 2-0!

Why?

Nathan Eovaldi allowed two runs and the Boston offense failed to get their offense going against Luis Gil, New York’s bullpen.

Boston was 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left nine on base.
