Shake Up In The Top 25

It was to be expected that after preseason number one  team Duke lost to Kansas  in the final 1.8 seconds Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden that they would drop in the top 25 but how many spots would they drop? Who would be the new number one team? The new poll just came out and looks like this . "according to http://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/rankings/top25/

Why does the new top 25 look like this?

Malik Monk made seven three pointers for Kentucky and he had 23 points. Kentucky has won the three games they have played by an average of 26.7 points.

Player of the year candidate for Villinova Josh Hart scored 24 points in Monday's win at Purdue while the wildcats are also on an eight game winning streak dating back to last season. 

James Blackmon scored 23 points in a win over U Mass Lowell while he is averaging 24.5 points and 6.5 rebounds after two games.

Frank Mason's jumper helped Kansas beat the preseason number one team in the country Tuesday as he finished with 21 points. 

Duke was without their star freshman Jayson Tatum and Harry Giles in Tuesday's loss to Kansas . Sophomore guard Luke Kennard finished with 22 points.

J.P Macura was 10-10 from the free throw line in Monday's win over Buffalo while he is averaging 15.5 points,3.5 rebounds to go along with 3.5 assists. 

Joel Berry finished with 23 points on 10 shots in Tuesday's win against Long Beach State while teammate Justin Jackson contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Austin Nichols scored 11 points and also collected three rebounds in his Virginia debut while also being the only player to score in double figures for Tony Bennett. 

Lonzo Ball is averaging 16.0points 8.5 assists and 8.0 rebounds through two games while making 10-14 shots that he has attempted for UCLA.

Saint Mary's  shot 57. 4 percent in a win over Prairie View A&M on Wednesday. Jock Landale had 13 points  and eight rebounds.

Cal transfer Jordan Matthew is averaging 16.5 points and 3.5 assists for Gonzaga while he made five three pointers in Monday's win over San Diego State. 

VJ King finished with 17 points for Louisville on 11 shots in Monday's win over William & Mary. The freshman for Rick Pitno's team is averaging 11.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. 

Texas shot 50 percent from the field in a win Monday over Louisana Monroe while Tevin Mack had 14 points for the game. 

Lauri Markkanen had 26 points and eight rebounds for Arizona  in Tuesday's win against CSU Bakersfield as the freshman was also perfect from the free throw line going 9-9.

Maurice Watson scored 17 points for Creighton while adding 10 assists in the win Tuesday against Wisconsin. Kansas State transfer Marcus Foster led all scorers with 19 points in Friday's win over UMKC. Maurice Watson had 17 points and 9 assists.

Wisconsin missed 28 of 39 3 pointers in Tuesday's loss to Creighton as Bronson Koening was just 3-13 from beyond the arc.

Manu Lecomte of Baylor finished with 18 points, seven assists in a win over Oregon. Manu Lecomte is shooting 46. 2 percent from three point range this season. 

Tom Izzo's team remains winless as they lost games on neutral courts to Kentucky and Arizona. Miles Bridges is averaging 13.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. 

EC Matthew scored 17 points in a win Wednesday over Brown while he is averaging 20 points through three games for Rhode Island. 

Caleb Swangigan is averaging 21. 5 points, 14.0 rebounds per game to go along with 5.0 assists for Purdue so far this season.  He scored 22 points in Monday's loss to Villinova. 

Syraucuse was on fire from three point range Tuesday as they were 13-3 pointers in Tuesday's win over Holy Cross. Andrew White had five three pointers for Syracuse and finished with 19 points. 

Former Memphis signee Charlie Moore scored 38 points in Wednesday's win over UC Irvine.

Deonte Burton finished with 10 points and 13 rebounds in Monday's win over Mount Saint Mary's while Monte Morris added 18 points and three assists.
