The 2020-2021 season though is different for Duke, their head coach Mike Krzyzewski and their fanbase!

    How different?

9,314 fans (Cameron Crazies) aren’t inside Cameron Indoor Stadium cheering the team on every game!

    Why?

Because of the Coronavirus that is still currently affecting us in the United States as we’re now into February the second month of 2021 calendar year.

And this season Duke is struggling mightily!

Duke has record of 7-8 while they’re 5-6 in the Atlantic Coast Conference and is currently on a three game losing streak!

Duke’s losing streak on the hardwood began on Monday February 1, 2021!

    Where?

    Coral Gables Florida!

    Why?

Because they were topped by Miami by a score 77-75.

    Why?

Duke trimmed a five-point deficit with 41 seconds remaining to two with four seconds left, but Duke was unable to get a shot off as time expired.

Then they returned to Durham North Carolina where they lost to North Carolina on Saturday February 6, 2021 by a score of 91-87!

    Why?

DJ Steward converted a layup on a fast break to cut North Carolina's lead to one with 17 seconds remaining, but three free throws from Leaky Black were enough for the Tar Heels to hold off Duke in Cameron Indoor Stadium, 91-87.

Then they lost at home again!

    When?

Tuesday afternoon where they lost to Notre Dame by a score of 93-89 Jeremy Roach knotted the game at 83 with 4:49 remaining, but Notre Dame's Juwan Durham answered with points on back-to-back possessions to pull the Irish ahead. A Prentiss Hubb three-pointer increased the Irish lead to five, and a pair of free throws from Dane Goodwin secured the Notre Dame win in the closing seconds.“according to articles on goduke.com”

    Meanwhile ,

Notre Dame won the rematch on the hardwood in Durham North Carolina!

    Why?

Five Notre Dame players scored in double figures Ryan who was the leader for Notre Dame, pouring in 28 points and coming up with three big steals. Juwan Durham also deserves honorable mentions as he was perfect from the field, scoring 13 points off 6-of-6 shooting, and blocking three attempts from Duke.

    HOW IT HAPPENED

Notre Dame struggled out of the gate against the Blue Devils, failing to convert on the offensive end while Duke jumped out to an early 23-8 lead. Despite being down by as many as 15 points, Ryan kept the Irish within reach with 21 points over the opening 20 minutes. The Irish chipped away and managed to come back and decrease the deficit to just five, 50-45, at the half.

Notre Dame carried its momentum into the second half and was able to take the lead for the first time at 14:28 and it was neck-and-neck the rest of the way. From beyond the arc, the Irish greatly improved their accuracy shooting 7-of-14 in the second stanza. Durham also added some flare with a few electric dunks to keep the Irish lead intact.

Notre Dame held on to an 87-85 lead with less than a minute to play and Prentiss Hubb made the play of the game to help seal the win. With the shot clock winding down, the junior hit a contested three from way beyond the arc to put the Irish up by five with 37 seconds left. Notre Dame made enough free throws down the stretch to come away with the 93-89 win. “according to an article on und.com

And they likely won’t make the NCAA Tournament this year!

The last time that happened Mike Krzyzewski was hospitalized for exhaustion and also had back surgery. “
