Duke Snaps Their Three Game Losing Streak, Gets Back In The Win Column While NC State Has Another Setback In Raleigh

Coming into their game verses one another in North Carolina’s state capital yesterday Duke was on a three game losing streak and NC State was on a one game losing streak!

Why?

Because Duke had lost three straight Atlantic Coast Conference games.

Tuesday afternoon where they lost to Notre Dame by a score of 93-89 Jeremy Roach knotted the game at 83 with 4:49 remaining, but Notre Dame's Juwan Durham answered with points on back-to-back possessions to pull the Irish ahead. And NC State lost to Syracuse in their rematch in North Carolina’s state capital on Tuesday February 9, 2021!

Yesterday, Duke snapped their three game losing streak and got back in the win column with a 69-53 win over NC State!

Matthew Hurt scored 24 points and Duke took over with a 22-3 first-half run.

NC State trailed 11-10 six minutes into the game after a dunk by Hellems, but Duke scored the next 14 points to take a 25-10 lead with 9:39 left in the opening half. A Braxton Beverly lay-up ended the Pack's scoreless streak, but Duke scored eight on the next nine points after Beverly's bucket to take a 33-13 lead with 6:11 remaining until the half.

Duke would lead by as many as 22 points in the first half and would take a 39-21 lead into the break.
