Who was Don Mattingly going to turn to in the bullpen? Right hander David Phelps who pitched 2/2/3 scoreless innings along with that he had four strikeouts. He allowed a two out walk and a double while striking out seven batters. Phelps was credited with the win and is now 5-5 on the season to go along with a 2.65 era .
Along with David Phelps excellent outing the Marlines offense didn't have any problems scoring as they scored eleven runs in a shut out of the Saint Louis Cardinals.
