Marlines Honor Jose Fernandez, Emotions Run High Marlins Win
Monday was no ordinary night for the the team in Miami Florida as the Marlins played their first game without one of their teammates Jose Fernandez who was supposed make Monday's start but instead every member of the team was wearing number forty to honor Jose Fernandez who died in a boating accident early Sunday morning. The news has rocked the sports world! Jose Fernandez was a well liked player among his teammates and around the league.
As for the game it was an emotional roller coaster ride. Dee Gordon got the Marlins offense going by hitting a home run to honor not only his teammate but his friend. "according to http://m.marlins.mlb.com/news/article/203512406/marlins-dee-gordon-honors-fernandez-homers/
On the night Dee Gordon collected four hits as the Marlins beat the Mets 7-3 "according to http://m.marlins.mlb.com/news/article/203547942/marlins-beat-mets-in-emotional-return-to-field/
My thoughts go out to the Miami Marlins at this time who have lost not only a teammate but a member of the Marlins family. Jose you will be missed by many who have seen you or watched you play the game you loved! I will miss seeing you in uniform and seeing you on the mound while throwing the baseball so hard that I could hear it hit the catchers glove when the Marlins come on television.
RIP Jose you're already missed by so many !
