CC Sabathia Shuts Out Tampa Bay, New York Gets Their First Win Of The Season

The New York team from the Bronx got their first win of the season Tuesday as they beat Tampa Bay 5-0 at Tropicana Field.

The New York offense which has gotten younger backed up CC Sabathia's start by home runs that included a two-run homer by 24-year-old Ronald Torreyes on the first pitch he saw from Tampa Bay starting pitcher Jake Odorizzi with no outs in the third inning. Chase Headley also hit a home run. Designated hitter Matt Holiday also got in on the action as he hit a RBI double to give  New York a 3-0 lead. Tampa Bay meanwhile fall to 1-1 on the season as they had their chances with the bases loaded and one out in the eighth inning but Dellin Betances struck out Rickie Weeks and got Logan Morrison to roll over to first. New York closes out their first series with Tampa Bay tonight when New York sends Michael Pineda to the mound where he will face Alex Cobb of Tampa Bay.
