New York Center Fielder Jacoby Ellsbury Put On The 7-Day Concussion Disabled List

New York will be without center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury for awhile.  

He left Wednesday night's game against Kansas City with a concussion and sprained neck after he banged his head into the center-field wall while catching Alcides Escobar's  fly ball on Luis Severino's opening pitch. Ellsbury was down for an extended period and was checked by a New York trainer. He remained in center for the rest of the first inning but did not come to bat in the bottom half. New York recalled infielder-outfielder Rob Refsnyder from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to fill Ellsbury's spot on the roster. Aaron Hicks replaced Ellsbury in the top of the second inning and could see his playing time increase.
