Rookie Jordan Montgomery, New York Set To Clash With A.L East Rival Baltimore

New York and Baltimore will open up a three-game series starting on Memorial Day. The American League East leader New York has a record of 29-18 and is coming off a 9-5 win over Oakland Sunday.

By now you've probably heard of the 6"7 282 pound right -fielder and the player who has his own rooting section in Yankee Stadium right?

Hitting home runs is nothing new for the rookie slugger but now Aaron Judge can check this one off his list as he hit his first grand slam against Oakland and lead New York to a 9-5 win  Sunday and hopefully there will be a lot more of those in his future!

The New York ' offense had scored a combined four runs in the first two games of the series before Judge drove in that many on one swing in the finale. Five of the six runs A's starter Andrew  Triggs allowed were unearned, as his defense continually hurt him. The A's made two errors to bring their season total to 49 in as many games played. Meanwhile New York right -hander Michael Pineda worked around a rocky second inning, highlighted by Ryon Healey's s two-run single to left field, to complete six innings of three-run ball (two earned) to pick up his team-leading sixth win of the season. Pineda's solid outing continued a recent surge from New York's rotation: Yankees starters posted a 1.77 ERA over their six-game homestand. Khris Davis made it interesting in the eighth when he hit a two-run homer off reliever Chad Green to cut the Yankees' lead to 7-5. But the Yankees pulled away again after Brett Gardner drove in two with a bloop double in the home half of the inning. The New York offense had stalled for much of this week, but they picked it up Sunday as they recorded 10 hits after tallying just two in Saturday's win. "according to http://m.yankees.mlb.com/news/article/232921230/aaron-judge-grand-slam-helps-yanks-top-as/

Baltimore meanwhile has a record of 25-23 and are coming off an 8-4 loss to Houston Sunday.

For the second game in a row, the Astros pounced on the Orioles quickly. The Astros hit for a team cycle in the second inning and added a half-dozen runs, defeating Baltimore and easing into their fourth series sweep this season with an 8-4 win Sunday afternoon at Minute Maid Park.

Even after the Orioles -- who have now lost seven in a row -- scored quickly in the first inning on a two-run homer by Jonathan Schoop responded. "according to http://m.mlb.com/news/article/232928936/astros-sweep-orioles-with-6-run-inning/?game_pk=490846

He fares better at home. He will go up against Baltimore right -hander Dylan Bundy who has a record of 5-3 with a 2.92 earn run average. Will Aaron Judge who hit his first career grand slam Sunday against Oakland be able to back Jordan Montgomery with some more of his offense? Will Jordan Montgomery have a successful start against Baltimore?
