Gerrit Cole, Stephen Strasburg To New York?

The season ended with Houston and Washington playing in the World Series and Washington winning the World Series.

Now we’re into the off-season and every Major League team is trying to improve their infield, out field or their starting rotation with different players.

For the team that wears the pinstripes they’re concentrated on improving a particular area and that is their starting rotation that last year included J.A. Happ who had a record of 12-8 with a 4.91 earn run average. “according to https://www.mlb.com/player/j-a-happ-457918 , James Paxton who was 15-6 with an earn run average of 3.82 “according to https://www.mlb.com/player/james-paxton-572020 , CC Sabathia who is now retired as 2019 was his last season. Luis Severino who had a shoulder as well as a lat injury but returned before the season ended and finished a record of 1-1 with a 1.50 earn run average. “according to https://www.mlb.com/player/luis-severino-622663 Masahiro Tanaka who went 11-9 with a 4.45 earn run average. “according to https://www.mlb.com/player/masahiro-tanaka-547888 , and Jordan Montgomery who also returned late in the season after recovering from Tommy John Surgery. On the season he had a record of 0-0 with a 6.75 earn run average while pitching in two games. “according to https://www.mlb.com/player/jordan-montgomery-656756

How is the team that wears the pinstripes looking to improve their starting rotation? Perhaps they might add two arms that were starters in the World Series. Those pitchers include Gerrit Cole who pitched for Houston last season and Stephen Strasburg who pitched for Washington.

According to the report: "The Yankees will sit down with both [Gerrit] Cole and [Stephen] Strasburg over the next two days, sources said. Other interested teams already have met with or will meet with the two pitchers, who are widely viewed as the best starters in this year's free-agent class.”according to https://www.mlb.com/yankees/news/gerrit-cole-stephen-strasburg-to-meet-yankees

Cole led the Majors in strikeouts in 2019 with 326, while posting a 20-5 record with a 2.50 ERA in 33 regular-season starts before leading the Astros to the World Series. The 29-year-old California native was originally selected by the Yankees in the 2008 MLB Draft before opting to attend UCLA. After a stellar collegiate career, the right-hander was drafted by the Pirates with the first overall pick in the 2011 MLB Draft.”according to https://www.mlb.com/yankees/news/gerrit-cole-stephen-strasburg-to-meet-yankees
