Aaron Judge Homers As New York Sweeps Baltimore

Aaron Judge who is 6”7” 282 pounds right fielder for the team that wears the pinstripes was the difference between winning the finale and taking a loss in the finale in this abbreviated season in Baltimore on Thursday night.

Aaron Judge launched a titanic three-run homer in the ninth inning, powering New York’s 8-6 victory over the Orioles. With the home opener on deck, the blast sent the Yanks to their buses celebrating an 18th consecutive victory over Baltimore, and their 17th straight win at Camden Yards.

The drive off right-hander Cole Sulser came with Gio Urshela and DJ LeMahieu aboard, and it was Judge’s third career go-ahead homer in the ninth inning or later. It came after Baltimore’s Pedro Severino hit a two-run homer in the eighth off Jonathan Loaisiga, with the right-hander in his third inning of relief following a rain delay of one hour and 34 minutes.

But that wasn’t the only offense the team that wears the pinstripes got as they also received offense from Luke Voit who is a first baseman for the team that wears the pinstripes as Luke Voit contributed a grand slam in a five-run first inning, a drive off left-hander John Means that cleared the left-center-field fence.

While New York won the finale of the two game series Baltimore meanwhile suffered yet another loss to to New York.

Baltimore was able claw their way back into the game on a pair of Hanser Alberto and Rio Ruiz two-run homers before rain delayed the game for one hour and 34 minutes. Pedro Severino’s go-ahead two-run shot off Jonathan Loaisiga after play resumed also got Means off the hook. But Judge’s three-run blast off Cole Sulser in the ninth allowed New York to escape with its 17th consecutive win at Oriole Park, and its 18th straight over the O’s overall. “according to an article by  Joe Trezza on mlb.com
