New York And Philadelphia Are Going To Be Playing A Doubleheader In Pennsylvania Today

On Tuesday New York was supposed to host Philadelphia for the second game of their four game series before New York headed to Philadelphia for games three and four.

However,

Mother nature had other plans and postponed Tuesday night’s game in Bronx to Wednesday in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.

What does that mean?

It means that New York and Philadelphia will play a doubleheader where New York will be the home team for the first game while Philadelphia will be the home team for the second game and both games will be seven innings instead of nine. “according to an article by Bryan Hoch on mlb.com

New York has yet to announce their starting pitchers for the doubleheader but what I do know is that Philadelphia has announced who they’re going to start in the doubleheader. Zach Wheeler who is a right handed pitcher for Philadelphia will start game one of the doubleheader while Aaron Nola who also is a right handed pitcher will start game two. Zach Wheeler comes into the opening game of the doubleheader with a record of 1-0 with an earn run average of 1.29. Wheeler’s Phillies debut was a success on July 25 against the Marlins. He allowed one run in seven innings in a win over Miami. He hasn’t pitched since because of eight postponements. While Aaron Nola comes into the game with a record of 0-1 with an earn run average of 6.75. Nola pitched well through five innings on Opening Day on July 24, but ran into trouble late in a loss to Miami.
