Jameson Taillon Is Different From The Other Four Pitchers Who Are Going To Be In New York's Starting Rotation This Season Because He Is A Cancer Survivor
Jameson Taillon is different from the other four starting pitchers who are going to be in the team that wears pinstripes starting rotation this season!
How different?
He is a cancer survivor!
The right handed pitcher was treated for testicular cancer when he pitched for Pittsburgh!
Why?
Because Jameson Taillon was with Pittsburgh landed on the 10-day disabled list Saturday with groin discomfort. After alerting the Pirates' medical staff of an abnormality over the weekend, Taillon consulted with Dr. John C. Lyne, who performed the surgery Monday morning. Further treatment will be determined after upcoming tests.
The news loomed heavily in the visitor's clubhouse at Dodger Stadium, but a recurring theme among the reaction of Bucs players was the upbeat, positive support for their teammate.
Then, his teammate Pittsburgh Gerrit Cole had this to say about Jameson Taillion!
"He's tough as nails, so he's always going to look for the positive in things," Gerrit Cole said. "Unfortunately it just couldn't have happened to a harder worker, a guy who was prepared to do his job. This can be a really deadly disease, and it takes a strong person to beat it, and that's definitely who he is." “according to an article by Chad Thornburg
This season Jameson Taillion and Gerrit Cole are going to be in the same starting rotation again!
Why?
The team that wears the pinstripes have agreed to a trade to acquire Taillon from the rebuilding Pirates, sources told MLB.com on Sunday afternoon, rounding out their rotation with a right-hander who’s undergone Tommy John surgery twice but has performed like a top-of-the-rotation starter when healthy. The deal has not been confirmed by either club, but the players involved have been informed.
Pittsburgh is going to be acquiring prospects Miguel Yajure, Roansy Contreras, Maikol Escotto and Canaan Smith, MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand reported. The right-hander Yajure was the Yankees’ No. 15 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. Contreras was their No. 19 prospect, Smith was No. 21 and Escotto was not among their Top 30 Prospects. “according to an article by Adam Berry and Bryan Hoch on mlb.com
In his final season in Pittsburgh Jameson had a record of 2-3 with an earn run average of 4.10. “according to www.mlb.com/player/jameson-taillon-592791
