Gerrit Cole, Jameson Taillon Are Pitching In Today's Spring Training Game In Tampa Florida As New York Is Still Searching For Their First Win Of The Spring As They Oppose Kyle Funkhouser, Detroit

Two right handed pitchers are going to pitching back to back for the team that wears the pinstripes today in their second Spring Training game in Tampa Florida verses Detroit!

Who?

Gerrit Cole is going to start the game and Jameson Taillon is going to follow and they’re going to oppose Detroit’s Kyle Funkhouser who like them is a right handed pitcher!

Last season in his inaugural season in pinstripes Gerrit Cole finished with a record of 7-3 with an earn run average 2.84! Last season with Pittsburgh Jameson Taillon didn’t pitch!

Why?

Because he had to undergo a second Tommy John Surgery!

The last time he pitched was 2019 with Pittsburgh where he finished with a record of 1-1 with an earn run average of 4.85. “according to Jameson Taillon Stats, Fantasy & News | MLB.com”

New York comes into the second game of Spring Training with a record of 0-1 in the GrapeFruit League!

Why?

Because New York was topped by Toronto in their inaugural spring training game by a score of 6-4!

Why?

Michael King gave up three runs and three hits to Toronto in two innings where he threw forty two pitches and twenty seven of them were strikes. “according to an article by Bryan Hoch on mlb.com”

Meanwhile,

Detroit comes into their second game of Spring Training verses New York on the other end of spectrum!

Why?

Because they scored ten runs to Philadelphia’s two!

When?

Yesterday!

How?

Willi Castro hit the first pitch of the Tigers’ Grapefruit League campaign out to center field at Joker Marchant Stadium on Sunday afternoon, he left no doubt where it was headed. The switch-hitting shortstop crushed former Tiger Iván Nova’s first pitch 458 feet to center field with a 111 mph exit velocity. Castro later notched an RBI groundout out in what evolved into a six-run first frame that included three bases-loaded walks before Hinch and Phillies manager Joe Girardi called the inning with two outs. “according to an article by Jason Beck on mlb.com”

First pitch is set for 1:05pm from George M Steinbrenner Field!

The game is going to be televised on Yes!
