How Is Lucas Luetge Going To Perform For New York This Season Out Of The Bullpen?
How is Lucas Luetge going to perform for New York this season out of the bullpen?
Right now I don’t know to the answer to that question!
But what I do know is that the left handed pitcher made the team!
Why?
Because he had a 1.74 earn run average in nine spring training appearances and the only runs he gave up were n a pair of solo homers by Toronto's Teoscar Hernandez and Kevin Smith.
When?
March 21, 2021!
And New York had an opening on the Opening Day roster!
Why?
Because Zack Britton is recovering from surgery on March 15 to remove a bone chip in his pitching elbow and Justin Wilson is building up arm strength after being sidelined during spring training by shoulder soreness.
If Lucus Luetege performs as well as he did in spring training will he remain on the roster when either Zack Britton and Justin Wilson return to the bullpen during the regular season?
Right now I don’t know the answer to that question but what I do know is that Lucus Luetege has earned this opportunity to be apart of New York’s bullpen.
How?
By having a 1.74 earn run average in Spring Training in nine spring training appearances and only giving up two solo home runs to Teoscar Hernandez and Kevin Smith
When?
March 21, 2021!
