How?

Aaron Judge hit two home runs off Baltimore’s starting pitcher Dean Kremer!

When?

On Saturday New York won yet again!

Where?

Baltimore Maryland!

This time by a score of 8-2!

Meanwhile,

Baltimore was on the other end of the spectrum of the series!

Where?

Baltimore Maryland!

Why?

Because they lost the first two games of the series!

When?

Friday, Saturday!

Why?

Baltimore lost game one on Friday Maikel Franco bounced the Jonathan Loaisiga sinker into the dirt, pulling it on a few easy hops to Yankees third baseman Miguel Andújar. Whereas manager Brandon Hyde would characterize one of Franco’s earlier infield grounders as a productive out, as it moved a runner over as part of Baltimore’s three-run fifth, this one benefited from no such branding. This one helped put the finishing touches on Friday’s 5-4 loss to the Yankees at Oriole Park, the ensuing 5-4-3 double play erasing the potential tying run from first in the ninth.

Then they lost game two on Saturday by a score of 8-2!

Why?

Jorge Lopez who started for Baltimore gave up five runs.

Then reliever Keegan Akin hit a wall in his fourth frame, loading the bases before Tyler Wells (balk, Luke Voit two-run single) allowed all three inherited runners to score.

On Sunday the New York offense got off to a fast start!

Where?

Baltimore Maryland!

How?

Clint Frazier, Gary Sanchez hit back to back home runs giving Jordan Montgomery some breathing room to work with before even throwing his first pitch to Baltimore hitters.

Jordan Montgomery struggled!

How?

Jordan Montgomery experienced uncharacteristic struggles with his command and with putting hitters away. Montgomery threw 76 pitches over three innings, surrendering five runs on six hits.

Jordan Montgomery saw that lead evaporate in the home half of the third. Mountcastle, Maikel Franco and Freddy Galvis each drove in runs, part of a frame pushed along by two Montgomery wild pitches that Sánchez could not smother behind the dish.

And New York lost by a score of 10-6!

Jordan Montgomery had this to say about his start in the finale verses Baltimore.

I’m going to have to look at it tomorrow and re-evaluate, try and get better,”

While Baltimore was on the other end of the spectrum in the finale!

When?

Yesterday!

Where?

Baltimore Maryland!

Bruce Zimmermann allowed Baltimore to comeback from a four run deficit

How?

He retired 17 of 20 hitters in his first big league appearance since May 2, striking out six.

In the process, he allowed the O’s to claw back on run-scoring hits from Ryan Mountcastle and Pedro Severino in the first, jump ahead on Trey Mancini’s double in the fourth, and pull away on Maikel Franco’s two-run homer in the seventh. Mountcastle added a two-run single in the eighth to put the game on ice.

Tonight New York is supposed to open up a four game series with Texas!

Where?

Arlington Texas!

But could mother nature be a problem?

That is a possibility!

Why?

Because there is a 28% chance of precipitation at first pitch but that won’t be a problem because Globe Life Park has a retractable roof.

Gerrit Cole is going to be starting for New York!

The right handed pitcher comes into the game with a record of 5-1 with an earn run average of 1.37.

Why?

Because Gerrit Cole is coming off his best start of the season in which he struck out 12 batters while tossing eight scoreless innings, allowing just four hits and no walks against the Rays. He’ll go for his sixth win of the year vs. the Rangers, against whom he has a 5-2 career record. He is going to be opposing Texas’s Jordan Lyles who like him is a right handed pitcher. Jordan Lyles comes into the game with a record of 1-3 with an earn run average of 6.63.

Why?

After a rough stretch in which he allowed at least three runs in six straight starts, Lyles settled in nicely in his last outing against San Francisco. He tossed five innings, allowing just two runs in a loss. Lyles has struggled with his control in May, walking nine batters after allowing just six free passes in April.

First pitch is set for 8:05pm from Globe Life Park!

The game is going to be televised on Bally Sports Southwest, Yes!
