But could mother nature possibly get in the way of Domingo German, Martin Perez starts, the opening game of the three game series between New York, Boston tonight?

I would say that is a possibility but a very slim possibility!

Why?

Because there is a 12% chance of rain at first pitch!

New York comes into the game with a record of 40-34!

Why?

Because won their previous series as well as their previous game!

Why?

Because they won 2-3 games when they opposed Kansas City who unlike them is a member of the American League Central.

Where?

Bronx New York!

Why?

Because they won on Wednesday night Thursday afternoon!

On Wednesday night they won by a score of 6-5!

Why?

Because walks were the main subject for New York!

Where?

Bronx New York!

Why?

Eleven batters walked verses Kansas City!

Clint Frazier doubled,

Rougned Odor homered, Gary Sanchez homered!

Although Rougned Odor and Gary Sanchez’s home runs were different!

How?

Rougned Odor hit a two run homer while Gary Sanchez hit one home run!

Aroldis Chapman came into the game for New York who then had a one run lead at 5-4!

When?

In the ninth inning!

His job?

To save the game for New York but Aroldis Chapman didn’t get the job done!

Why?

Aroldis Chapman was charged with his third blown save in eight opportunities.

Why?

Michael A. Taylor reached on a one-out single and Whit Merrifield punched a hit into the right-field corner, placing runners at first and third with two outs.

Sebastian Rivero exhibited great patience, looking at four pitches out of the strike zone -- Chapman's fourth wasn't close, and the closer loudly made his displeasure apparent. O'Hearn followed with a soft check-swing that third baseman DJ LeMahieu barehanded, but too late to record an out.

Despite Aroldis Chapman’s blown save opportunity New York topped Kansas City by a score of 6-5!

Why?

Luke Voit had a walk off hit!

What kind of hit?

A single off the right field wall!

Then on Thursday afternoon New York defeated Kansas City by a score of 8-1 in the finale!

Where?

Bronx New York!

Why?

Jameson Taillon tied his season high by navigating 6 1/3 innings, scattering five hits and touched only by Sebastian Rivero’s run-scoring double in the fifth inning -- the rookie catcher’s first Major League hit. Taillon walked two and struck out six, recording an out past the fifth inning for just the third time in 14 starts as a Yankee. New York had lost each of his previous four starts.

Offensively Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez, Luke Voit all homered for New York!

There was a difference in their homers though!

Why?

Aaron Judge, Luke Voit hit one home run each while Gary Sanchez hit a three run home run!

Boston comes into the game with a record of 44-31!

Why?

Because unlike New York Boston lost 2-3 games to Tampa Bay who like New York, Boston is a member of the American League East.

When?

Wednesday and Thursday!

Where?

St. Petersburg Florida!

Why?

They lost Wednesday’s game by a score of 8-2!

Why?

Xander Bogaerts and Christian Vázquez had RBI singles for the Red Sox, who had their lead over the Rays cut to a half-game.

Boston's Garrett Richards (4-5) struggled again, allowing five runs, three hits and four walks in 1 2/3 innings. He has given up 15 runs over 11 innings in last three starts.

Zunino connected on his 15th homer, a two-run drive, during a three-run second as the Rays took a 5-1 lead.

Franco displayed his speed when he reached safely on second baseman Kiké Hernández’s error on a routine-looking grounder in the second that allowed Lowe to score. Hernández bobbled the ball and spiked a throw to first with Franco moving quickly down the line.

Franco drew a two-out walk in the first before Meadows made it 2-1 on his 16th homer.

The 20-year old Franco was briefly checked by a trainer in the first after his helmet came off, hit the ground and then struck under his chin as he dove back to first on a pickoff attempt.

Lowe’s three-run homer off Matt Andriese put the Rays up 8-1 in the seventh.

Red Sox reliever Josh Taylor worked the sixth and extended his scoreless appearance streak to 21 games, covering 17 innings. It’s the longest stretch ever by a Boston left-hander.

Then Boston lost to Tampa Bay by a score of 1-0 in the finale!

When?

Last night!

Where?

St. Petersburg Florida!

Why?

Boston lost a no-hitter in the eighth inning, then lost the game and first place in the American League East in bizarre fashion in the bottom of the ninth on Thursday night at Tropicana Field.

When Francisco Mejía swung and missed at a curveball by Matt Barnes, the ball bounced away from Red Sox catcher Christian Vázquez and Manuel Margot came racing home to score with two outs in the bottom of the ninth for a walk-off 1-0 win for Tampa Bay.
