Gerrit Cole Struggled, Aaron Judge Hit A Two Run Home Run, New York Lost The Finale, Was Swept By Boston In Boston Massachusetts Over The Weekend
When you think of Gerrit Cole who is a starting pitcher for New York what do you think of?
When I think of Gerrit Cole I think of him dominating the opponent?
That didn’t happen yesterday in the finale verses Boston in Boston Massachusetts!
Why?
Because Gerrit Cole struggled!
How?
Gerrit Cole’s first pitch of the afternoon was belted over the left-field Green Monster by Kiké Hernández, and Rafael Devers crushed a 451-foot, three-run homer to the right-field seats four batters later, setting the tone for the Yankees’ 9-2 loss to the Red Sox on Sunday. The Yankees have opened the season 0-6 against Boston for the first time since 2009, when they started winless in eight tries.
J.D. Martinez launched a third-inning solo home run and Christian Vázquez lifted a sacrifice fly to round out scoring against Gerrit Cole, who was charged with six runs (five earned) and eight hits over five innings. Gerrit Cole walked two and struck out six in an 89-pitch effort.
And the offense struggled as well!
Though, court was in session once!
Why?
Because Aaron Judge hit a two run home run off Boston starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez but then popped out popped out representing the potential tying run with the bases loaded in the seventh.

But the finale wasn’t the only game New York lost as they were swept by Boston because they also lost games Friday, Saturday in Boston Massachusetts.
Why?
Because in the opening game of the three game series between New York, Boston who are both members of the American League East New York lost the opening game of the three game series by a score of 5-3 in Boston Massachusetts on Friday night!
Why?
Because Domingo Germán fumbled an easy grounder for a costly error.
Domingo German recovered after surrendering Xander Bogaerts’ two-run double and a Hunter Renfroe RBI knock in the first inning, but his inability to cleanly handle Rafael Devers’ one-out, third-inning tapper loomed large. Renfroe delivered a sacrifice fly to bring home the unearned run, giving Boston its second lead.
Gio Urshela was thrown out at home plate on a questionable send in New York’s 5-3 loss.

Then on Saturday New York lost to Boston yet again!
This time, by a score of 4-2 and lost the series in the process.
Why?
Nathan Eovaldi dominated his former team into the eighth inning.
DJ LeMahieu broke up the shutout, chasing Eovaldi with a solo homer to right-center field. Judge, Gary Sánchez and Giancarlo Stanton each worked walks against Hirokazu Sawamura to load the bases, but Luke Voit grounded into an inning-ending fielder’s choice against another former Yankee in Adam Ottavino.

Tonight New York who is a member of the American League East opens up a four game series with the Los Angeles Angeles who unlike them are a member of the American League West.
Where?
Bronx New York where two right handed pitchers are going to be starting the game for New York, Los Angeles Angels!
Why?
Because Michael King is going to be starting for New York!
Dylan Bundy is going to be starting for the Los Angeles Angeles!
Michael King comes into the game with a record of 0-3 with an earn run average of 4.05.
Dylan Bundy comes into the game with a record of 1-7 with an earn run average of 6.68.
