tIhink it’s tiring when losses are blamed on umpires calls because there is so much that goes on before and usually after but the strike 3 call on Odor was inexcusable and disgraceful. To make that call on national TV in the bottom of the ninth is ineptitude at its finest.
Morales’ full-count, called strike three against (Rougned) Odor was well off the plate and high — an easy ball four. But the pitch was called an inning-ending strike three, stranding runners on first and third with the game tied, 4-4. Gleyber Torres had just tied the game with an RBI double that scored Aaron Judge.

New York went to lose the finale of the three game series as well as their fourth straight by a score of 6-5.
Why?
Because New York’s rally came up short after after Gleyber Torres hit Matt Barnes 0-2 curveball to bring Aaron Judge home and tie the game at 4.

Marwin Gonzalez hit a two run shot to tie the game in the seventh inning.
Matt Barnes blew the save and appeared to be on the hook for the loss. Barnes, who had converted saves on Friday and Saturday, rung up Rougned Odor on a curveball that never really grazed the strike zone, stranding runners on the corners and sending the game to extras tied at 4.
Then Xander Bogaerts put Boston back on top for good.
