Are Gerrit Cole, New York Yankees going to bounce back when he starts the opening game of the doubleheader today, opposes Marcus Stroman, New York Mets today in Bronx New York?

Right now I don’t know the answer to that question!

What I do know is that he and the New York Yankees are going to be looking to bounce back!

Why?

Because on Sunday verses Boston in Boston Massachusetts Gerrit Cole’s first pitch of the afternoon was belted over the left-field Green Monster by Kiké Hernández, and Rafael Devers crushed a 451-foot, three-run homer to the right-field seats four batters later, setting the tone for the Yankees’ 9-2 loss to the Red Sox on Sunday. The Yankees have opened the season 0-6 against Boston for the first time since 2009, when they started winless in eight tries.

J.D. Martinez launched a third-inning solo home run and Christian Vázquez lifted a sacrifice fly to round out scoring against Gerrit Cole, who was charged with six runs (five earned) and eight hits over five innings. Gerrit Cole walked two and struck out six in an 89-pitch effort.

And yesterday the New York Yankees lost the opening game of the Subway Series to the New York Mets by a score of 8-3!

Why?

Jordan Montgomery permitted three runs and six hits over 4 1/3 innings and Justin Wilson struggled mightily in a five-run sixth, unable to record an out.

But will he and the New York Yankees have the opportunity to bounce back?

Mother nature might have something to say about that!

Why?

Because their is a 43% chance of rain at first pitch!
