New York's Starting Pitchers, Relief Pitchers Were On Opposite Ends Of The Spectrum In The New York,Boston Series In Boston Massachusetts This Weekend

New York’s starting pitchers, relief pitchers were on opposite ends of the spectrum in the New York, Boston series this weekend!

Why?

Jordan Montgomery who started the opening game of the four game series in Boston Massachusetts was phenomenal!

How phenomenal?

Jordan Montgomery pitched 5 2/3 innings scoreless innings before exiting in line for the win.

Unfortunately though Jordan Montgomery didn’t get the win!

Why?

Because they lost by a score of 5-4!

Why?

Because relievers Chad Green, Kris Kriske faltered!

How?

Chad Green surrendered a game-tying two-run double to Kiké Hernández.

Chad Green grooved a fastball that Hernández pounded to left-center field.

Kris Kriske was unable to find the strike zone, becoming the first pitcher ever to throw four wild pitches in an extra inning, according to STATS. No pitcher has thrown more than four in any inning.

Jordan Montgomery had this to say about the game!

I’m still pretty sick to my stomach right now.

Kris Kriske had this to say about his performance!

It’s not fun “There’s a lot of guys battling their butts off. It sucks to be the one to blow it for the team.”

Because of Kris Kriske’s performance in relief after the game he was sent back to Triple -A Scranton /Wilkies -Barre!

Then yesterday Domingo German was amazing in his start verses Boston in Boston Massachusetts in the finale

How amazing?

Domingo Germán struck out 10 against a walk over his sharp seven-plus inning performance.

In the seventh inning, Germán struck out Jarred Duran, then saw Bogaerts reach on a strikeout that tipped catcher Gary Sánchez's glove for a passed ball. Germán recovered, fanning Rafael Devers and J.D. Martinez to keep the bid alive.

But the New York bullpen faltered yet again! This time, in the finale!

How?

Jonathan Loaisiga surrendered hits to all four men he faced, with Christian Vázquez and Kiké Hernández drilling run-scoring knocks before pinch-hitter Kevin Plawecki greeted Zack Britton with a game-tying groundout. Xander Bogaerts' sacrifice fly put Boston ahead.

Then Zack Britton who like Jonathan Loaisiga is a reliever gave up a game tying groundout and Xander Bogaerts' sacrifice fly put Boston ahead. Matt Barnes closed out the ninth around Giancarlo Stanton's two-out single, sealing the Yanks' third loss in four games this weekend and their 10th defeat in 13 tries vs. Boston overall.

And New York lost the finale by a score of 5-4!
