Aaron Judge Contributed Offensively, DJ Lemahieu Contributed Defensively As New York Topped Tampa Bay By A Score Of 3-1 In The Tenth Inning Last Night In St. Petersburg Florida

New York topped Tampa Bay by a score of 3-1 last night in St. Petersburg Florida!

Why?

Aaron Judge who arrived late to the dugout, late to Tropicana Field and was scratched from New York’s starting lineup as New York played game two of their three game series against Tampa Bay.

Why?

Because Aaron Judge who is New York’s right fielder was going through ongoing medical testing.

But Aaron Judge wasted no time when Aaron Boone inserted him into the game in the fifth inning as a pinch -hitter contributing to the game with run batted in single tipped the glove of Tampa Bay shortstop Wander Franco that was followed by a run -scoring wild pitch that added cushion.

DJ Lemaieu who is a versatile infielder contributed defensively in the tenth inning for New York.

How?

DJ LeMahieu waved his arms twice as he positioned for the final play of Wednesday’s game, supremely confident in his ability to complete a snag he has been making since his earliest days on a ballfield. He stared into Tropicana Field’s oatmeal-tinted roof and … suddenly didn’t seem quite so sure.

DJLeMahieu’s knees buckled and he sprawled to his right, stabbing his gloved left hand across his body and hoping for a miracle. The ball snagged leather instead of bouncing off the infield dirt, and the normally stoic first baseman flashed a relieved smile, having sealed the Yankees’ 3-1, 10-inning victory over Tampa Bay.

In the finale this afternoon Tampa Bay is going to be looking to salvage a game out of the series!

Why?

Because they lost the first two games of the series!

When?

Tuesday, Wednesday!

Where?

St. Petersburg Florida!

Why?

Tampa Bay lost the opening of the three game series by a score of 4-3!

Top prospect Wander Franco had just worked an impressive two-out walk, taking four straight balls after falling behind 0-2 and fouling off a 103.1 mph fastball from flame-throwing Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman. Up came Nelson Cruz, the Rays’ big-time trade acquisition. The veteran DH clubbed a ninth-inning walk-off homer against Chapman for the Twins on June 10, and second baseman Brandon Lowe said Tampa Bay’s dugout was hoping for a “repeat scenario” in his home debut for the Rays.

Cruz got ahead of Chapman, 3-0, then took two fastballs and went down swinging on a slider to seal the Rays’ 4-3 loss to the Yankees. Tampa Bay couldn’t come up with the one big hit it needed, a fitting end to a night the club left nine runners on base.

Last night Tampa Bay lost yet again!

This time in the tenth inning to New York by a score of 3-1!

Why?

Extra innings have been unkind to the Rays this season, perhaps none more so than the 10th inning of their 3-1 loss to the Yankees on Wednesday night at Tropicana Field.

In the span of eight batters, the Rays saw high-leverage reliever Pete Fairbanks exit the game with a right shoulder injury, came out on the wrong end of two tough defensive plays and stranded two runners in scoring position against Aroldis Chapman before walking off the field with their third straight loss.
