Should Chad Green Have The Opportunity To Close Out Games For New York?
Should Chad Green have the opportunity to close out games for New York for New York?
I think so!
Why?
Because On July 1, 2021 Aroldis Chapman who is typically New York’s closer struggled in the ninth inning verses the Los Angeles Angeles in Bronx New York!
Why?
Aroldis Chapman walked three of the first four batters he faced and then allowed a Grand Slam to Jared Walsh that tied the game.
Yesterday Aroldis Chapman’s struggles continued!
This time, verses the New York Mets in the opening game of the New York Yankees, New York Mets Subway Series doubleheader in Bronx New York!
How?
Pete Alonso launched a game-tying home run off Chapman and José Peraza smacked a two-run, fan-interference double as part of a six-run seventh inning as the Yankees absorbed a crushing 10-5 defeat in the opener of Sunday’s split-admission seven-inning doubleheader at Yankee Stadium.

Because Aroldis Chapman continued to struggle in the loss in the opening game of the Subway Series doubleheader he didn’t come out of the bullpen to save game two which the New York Yankees won by a score of 4-2.
Why?
Because instead Chad Green who like Aroldis Chapman is a reliever threw three perfect innings.
What does Aroldis Chapman’s struggles, Chad Green throwing three perfect innings mean for New York going forward?
Does mean that Chad Green becomes New York’s closer?
I think he should!
Why?
Because the New York Mets did not get a ball out of the infield against Chad Green.
