New York Won Their Ninth Straight Game Yesterday With 7-1 Win Over Minnesota Because Of Starting Pitching From Gerrit Cole Offense From Giancarlo Stanton, Luke Voit, Andrew Velazquez

New York won their ninth straight game yesterday with 7-1 win over Minnesota because of starting pitching from Gerrit Cole offense from Giancarlo Stanton, Luke Voit , Andrew Velazquez.

Gerrit Cole cruised to his 12th victory, pitching out of traffic in the second and fifth innings. Cole pinned two runners aboard in the second by inducing a Willians Astudillo popout. He then stranded the bases loaded in the fifth by striking out Jorge Polanco and Josh Donaldson, rearing back to gas Polanco with 99.4 mph heat before freezing Donaldson on a 91.2 mph changeup.

Gerrit Cole worked six pristine innings, scattering five hits and a walk while striking out six. Polanco hit an eighth-inning homer off Lucas Luetge to break up the shutout.

Offensively Giancarlo Stanton and Luke Voit each drove in two runs to support six scoreless innings from Gerrit Cole. Andrew Velazquez hit his inaugural Major League Baseball home run.

Giancarlo Stanton had this to say about New York’s offense!

We’re just having great at-bats, top to bottom,” Stanton said. “The biggest factor has been wearing down the opposing pitcher. If we’ve got a lot of guys not chasing and forcing them to come into the zone, try to be more precise, they’re just going to make more mistakes. I think that’s what we’ve been doing.”

Today Luis Gil, Griffin Jax who are both right handed pitchers were supposed to start the finale today for New York, Minnesota in Bronx New York but the game has been postponed.

Because of inclement weather!

The game is going to be made up on September 13, 2021 at 2:05pm!

With today’s game between New York, Minnesota being postponed because of inclement weather New York will return to the diamond on Monday when they open up a two game series with Atlanta in Atlanta Georgia.
