Luis Severino, Drew Rasmussen Were Originally Scheduled To Start New York, Tampa Bay Finale Tonight In Bronx New York! Instead, Though It's Going To Be Clarke Schmidt, Jalen Beeks Starting Finale

Luis Severino, Drew Rasmussen were originally scheduled to start New York, Tampa Bay finale tonight in Bronx New York! Instead, though it’s going to be Clarke Schmidt , Jalen Beeks starting finale.

Why?

Because Drew Ramussen who was originally scheduled to start finale for Tampa Bay was put on 15 day injured list because of a strained left hamstring and prior to tonight’s Luis Severino was put on the Covid 19 injured list though he has not tested positive for Covid 19 as of now as his rapid test was negative. Though, he began experiencing fever, chills Wednesday night.

Though, could mother nature possibly get in the way of Clarke Schmidt, Jalen Beeks starting finale?

I would say there is a possibility of that happening because 7 % chance of rain at first pitch then chances increase to 14% at 8:00pm , 14% chance of rain at 9:00pm , 18% chance by the time the game is supposed to be over.

Clarke Schmidt who is a right handed pitcher comes into the finale with a record of 3-2 with an earn run average of 3.26.

Jalen Beeks comes into the finale with a record of 1-1 with an earn run average of 1.38.

In the finale New York is going for the sweep of Tampa Bay because New York comes into the finale with a record of 46-16 is leading the American League East is going to be looking to sweep Tampa Bay because they won the first games of the series including Wednesday’s game 4-3 because of pitching, Kyle Higashioka homering scoring Josh Doaldson, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Aaron Judge homering helped New York top Tampa Bay 4-3 extending winning streak to 13 games in Bronx New York.Kyle Higashioka hit 3 run home run in the bottom of the 5th inning 369 feet making 4-0 New York. Then things interesting as Tampa Bay scored once in the top of the 6th inning when Manual doubled to shallow left scoring Yandy Diaz . Then in the top of 8th inning Ji -Man Choi singled to right center scoring Manual Margot while Randy Arozarena went to second base cutting Tampa Bay’s deficit to 2-4. Then Rene Pinto singled to center scoring Randy Arozarena making cutting the deficit to 4-3.

Though, that was all scoring Tampa Bay produced because Wandy Peralta who pitched 1.2 innings who relieved Nestor Cortes gave up 0 runs, 0 earned runs 0 walks, struckout three Tampa Bay batters .Miguel Castro pitched 0.2 innings gave up 1 hit , 2 earned, walked 0 Tampa Bay batters. Then things got complicated in the top of 8th inning as there was 16 minute delay in the game for a rule check as umpires debated the Yankees' ability to remove right-hander Miguel Castro immediately after pitching coach Matt Blake visited the mound, attempting to determine if pinch-hitter Ji-Man Choi had been officially announced.

After all the debating Lucas Luetge was able to come out of bullpen for New York and he pitched 0.1 innings 2 hits 0 earned runs 0 walks , struckout 0 Tampa Bay batters. Then Clay Holmes closed the game in the 9th innings pitching 1.0 innings giving up 1 hits, 0 earned runs , 0 walks while striking one Tampa Bay batter. Then Clay Holmes who closed the game for New York relieved Lucas Luetge pitched 1.0 innings gave up 1 hit 0 earned runs, 0 balls, struckout 1 Tampa Bay batter.

New York manager Aaron Boone had this to say about his teams performance in their 4-3 over Tampa Bay Wednesday in Bronx New York.

We have some guys that are having great starts to their season individually, but everyone in that room has contributed in so many different ways,Defensively, running the bases, out of the 'pen, starting rotation … I think that gives everyone a lot of confidence going into each day, knowing we don't have to do it just one way."

Kyle Higashioka had this to say about teammates, outfielders Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton!

"It feels like Judge and [Giancarlo] Stanton are always just hitting them over the fence," Higashioka said. "But there's some days where other people are going to have to step up. We have the kind of team where guys can do that."

In the finale Tampa Bay is looking salvage game out of three game series because Tampa Bay comes in with a record of 35-27 and is third in the American League East 11 games back of New York who is leading the American League East because they lost the first two games of the series including Wednesday night’s game 4-3 because of Brett Phillips dropped a routine fly ball from Josh Donaldson in the fifth. McClanahan retired the next two batters, which would have gotten him out of the inning if Phillips had caught Donaldson's ball. Instead, McClanahan fell behind Isiah Kiner-Falefa and the Rays intentionally walked him before Kyle Higashioka smacked a three-run homer to left field.

Tampa Bay manager had this to say about "It's unfortunate the way it played out,When you're playing a really good team like we are right now, these two games, there's just been a couple costly mistakes that seemed to add to runs."
