Then in the bottom of the 1st inning Boston scored their inaugural run of the game as Christian Vazquez doubled scoring JD Martinez, Rob Refsnyder a former New York player cutting the deficit to 4-2 New York . Then Xander Bogaerts grounded out third base scoring New York player Rob Refsnyder cutting Boston’s deficit to 9-5. From there though it was all New York because reliever Lucas Luetge pitched 3.1 innings surrendering 1 hit , 0 earned runs walking 1 , striking out 6 Boston batters while Marwin Gonzalez hit sacrifice fly scoring Aaron Hicks in the top of the 7th inning extending New York’s lead to 10-5 Gleyber Torres doubled to left scoring Isiah Kiner-Falefa in the top of the 8th inning . Isiah Kiner -Falefa walked scoring Jose Trevino making the final score 12-5.
