Why Ian Hamilton Should Have More Opportunities To Close Games For New York
Ian Hamiton once was pitching in the Chicago Whitesox organization!
When he with Chicago Whitesox with Triple -A Charlotte on June 4, 2019 a foul ball was blasted in his face that caused him to have facial fractures that caused him to have blood exploding he felt the teams trainer punch me in the face with a towel. Ian Hamilton had to have 8 surgeries over the next two years to repair jaw, mounth , teeth that were detroyed. In 2020 with Chicago White Sox his season was brief as he could not take real bites of food had to test what he could eat what he could not. In 2021 permanent teeth were installed. Last year this year is the most comfortable I’ve been since that happened. I’m getting more comfortable on the mound too.

On Saturday May 6, 2023 in New York the team that wears pinstripes collected his inaugural save for New York for the team that wears the pinstripes in New York the team that wears the pinstripes 3-2 win over Tampa Bay on Saturday pitching 1.0 innings surrendering 0 earned runs striking out 1 Tampa Bay batter walking 1 Tampa Bay batter
On Monday May 1, 2023 against Cleveland Clay Holmes blew the save as Aaron Boone removed starting pitcher Domingo German who had pitched 8.1 innings surrendering 2 , 1 earned run , 1 walk while striking out 6 Cleveland batters. Though, was removed by New York the team that wears pinstripes manager Aaron Boone when he was just 88 pitches a couple outs away from throwing complete game shutout. Though, that didn’t happen as he was removed in favor of closer Clay Holmes who surrendered two hits, 0 earned runs , 0 walks while striking out 0 Cleveland batters.
Following the game New York manager Aaron Boone had this to say about removing Domingo German for Clay Holmes!
I just thought it was the right decision to do that there . Obviously it didn’t work , so ultimately that falls on me . Domingo was great but I wasn’t going to let him go back around there with tying runs coming to the plate.

Following New York the team that wears the pinstripes 3—2 over Tampa Bay Ian Hamilton had this to say about closing out the game for New York for the team that wears the pinstripes!
It was kind of unexpected,” said Hamilton, who last closed a game in college at Washington State University. “Every inning, you’re just trying to get three outs, so you try to simplify it like that. But having it in the ninth inning was definitely a different feel. It took me a little bit more to calm down.”

I think Ian Hamiton should have opportunity to close games for New York for the team that wears the pinstripes because as stated above on Saturday May 6, 2023 in New York the team that wears pinstripes collected his inaugural save for New York for the team that wears the pinstripes in New York the team that wears the pinstripes 3-2 win over Tampa Bay on Saturday pitching 1.0 innings surrendering 0 earned runs striking out 1 Tampa Bay batter walking 1 Tampa Bay batter and he proved that he is capable of closing games for New York the team that wears the pinstripes while Clay Holmes can be unreliable at times and blow the save.
