Monday New York the team that wears the pinstripes manager Aaron Boone had this to say how Gerrit Cole described his injury. He described it as his recoveries, before he gets to his next start, being more akin to what he feels during the season when he’s making 100 pitches,”“But he usually doesn’t feel it this time of year, when he’s at 45 [pitches] and building to 55. He usually doesn’t have the recovery issues he’s having. It’s been more of a challenge and more taxing. “All his strength and the testing they do has all been good. His stuff and his command has been really good in his outings. He’s just having a hard time getting to that fifth or sixth day, recovering like he’s accustomed to. ... I wouldn’t describe it as he’s in pain.”

Nestor Cortes had this to say!
He’s a big part of this rotation. It’s tough to hear the news,”He knows what he’s doing in and out throughout the whole year. … I feel like this is something that he’s trying to get ahead of. Obviously, it’s alarming for everybody. I know he’s been dealing with some stuff, as is every pitcher in Spring Training. I didn’t know how serious it was until now.”

I know he’s not bouncing back the way he is, but that guy's a perfectionist,
“I’m hoping for the best news, even if it’s him being out a couple of weeks. I’ll take that over anything worse. We’re all praying for the best.”
Marcus Stroman had this to say brutal news today on Cole . Praying it’s nothing serious and he’s back in the rotation soon . Blessed to be around a legend who is constantly elevating his game and trying to help everyone around him . Very thankful for his presence , insight, knowledge . Manifesting speedy recovery for the best pitcher in baseball!
