Roy Williams Gets His 800th Win As North Carolina Tops Syracuse

It was a historic night Monday in Chapel Hill as Roy Williams reached win number 800. He is the ninth coach in division 1 to reach that milestone.

Tyler Lydon lead the way for Syracuse with 26 points while he shot 11-14 from the field and way 3-5 from three-point range. 

Andrew White also contributed to the scoring effort with 15 points while Tyus Battle had 13 points and four steals.

North Carolina started the second half with a three-pointer to extend it's lead to 45-30 but Tyler Lydon wouldn't go away as he hit a three to start a 12-0 run by Syracuse that trimmed the deficit to single digits at 45-32. Then again as they had all night North Carolina answered as the lead grew to twelve at 66-54 before White hit a three-pointer and Tyler Lydon had a bucket to bring Syracuse back to single digits again but that was as close as Syracuse got  as North Carolina gave Roy Williams his 800th win by a score of 85-68. North Carolina finally hits the road as they visit Boston College Saturday.
