Winning Streak Ends At 7, John Gillon Banks 3-Pointer As Time Expires, Syracuse Tops Duke 78-75

When you're in a conference as deep as the Atlantic Coast Conference you're in for fight each and every night no matter who the opponent is.

That was the case Wednesday night when Duke and Syracuse played at the Carrier Dome and Syracuse was desperate for a win as they had lost three straight.

John Gillon hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Syracuse a 78-75 win. With 7.5 seconds left after a miss by Duke, John Gillon drove to the top of the key and banked in a three-pointer and then the Syracuse faithful stormed the court which I think was unacceptable!  You just won the game, not a championship.   Syracuse had lost three straight by six points or fewer.

Syracuse improves to 17-12 9-7 in the ACC and gets that signature win to bolster their NCAA Tournament resume. John Gillon led the way with  26 points while Tyus Battle contributed 18 in a game that featured eleven ties.
