North Carolina To Host Michigan For The ACC/Big Ten Challenge November 29, 2017

It  was announced today that defending national champion North Carolina will host Michigan on December 29th, 2017 for the ACC / Big Ten Challenge. It's been twenty-four years since the last time this two teams played one another they were in the final four.

UNC and Michigan will be playing for only the sixth time when the teams meet at the Smith Center in late November. The Tar Heels are 3-2 against the Wolverines, including a 77-71 win on April 5, 1993, in the Superdome to win UNC''s third and Coach Dean Smith's second NCAA championship. The Tar Heels have played 14 of its previous 18 games in the Challenge against Big Ten teams that were ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 (tied with Duke for the most ranked opponents in the history of the Challenge). Michigan is the eighth different opponent the Tar Heels will have played in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.
