Atlanta To Sign Quinn Cook

It took a long time for former Duke guard and national champion Quinn Cook to land on a roster in the NBA after playing in the NBA Developmental League for the Canton Charge before getting his chance first with New Orleans and then Dallas.

It has been reported that the Hawks are signing point guard Quinn Cook to a partially guaranteed two-year deal. After highly successful stints in the NBA D-League, Cook spent last season with the Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans averaging 5.6 points and 1.9 assists per game. Quinn Cook tore up the Las Vegas Summer League in July with the Pelicans, including two impressive outings against the Atlanta Hawks squad. However, before the signings of Rajon Rondo and Ian Clark, the Pelicans waived Cook allowing him to be a free agent. "according to https://soaringdownsouth.com/2017/08/20/atlanta-hawks-quinn-cook/

Before his NBA career, Quinn Cook had a masterful four-year collegiate career with the Duke Blue Devils. He was a part of Duke’s 2015 team that won the National Championship alongside Jahlil Okafor, Justise Winslow, and Tyus Jones. The signing of Quinn Cook fills the third point guard that the Hawks have been searching for. Cook will be joining Malcolm Delaney as the primary backup point guards to Dennis Schroder. He will provide exceptional perimeter shooting to the bench units, something Atlanta is proven to have needed. It is likely that we see lineups of Cook and Delaney playing at the same time. The Atlanta Hawks roster is now likely filled out, as the team is now likely set in stone. As each position is now filled with the necessary talent, the team can now press forward onto training camp and the NBA season. Now we see before our eyes the 2017-2018 Atlanta Hawks.
