Tre Jones Is The Key To Duke's Success On The Offensive End

Everyone talks about the big guys for Duke in freshman R. J. Barrett, Cam Reddish and Zion Williamson but another player seems far away in the distance because he’s never mentioned and he’s the most important player on the floor.

A season ago Duke didn’t have as great a point guard as they do this season. This season there is a familiar name running the offense for Duke and it’s not Tyus Jones who led Duke to a national title three years ago but this point guard is just as good or better as his younger brother Tre Jones is running the point this season for head coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Tre Jones can not only set up the offense and get his teammates involved but he can also contribute on the offensive end. Like his older brother Tyus Jones who is now in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves he can shoot but Tre Jones can also drive to the basket as well.

During Duke’s ACC/ Big Challenge game against Indiana he was 6-10 from the field to go along with fifteen points, eight assists and two steals. “according to http://www.goduke.com/fls/4200/stats/2018-19/basketball-m/du1127.pdf

The way I see it as long as Tre Jones is running the point for Duke this season and contributing to the scoring this team has a chance to be not just good but great so please the next time you’re watching Duke in person at Cameron Indoor Stadium or on television keep your eyes on Tre Jones because he is the one player that will make the difference in Duke having a successful season.
