Kenny Williams (15), Cameron Johnson (11), Nassir Little (11) and Coby White (10) also scored in double figures for Carolina, which is ranked No. 8 in the preseason Associated Press poll. “according to https://goheels.com/news/2018/11/2/mens-basketball-tar-heels-down-mount-olive-in-exhibition.aspx

Cameron Robinson led the Trojans with 12. Michael Brown and Jonathan Mebane added 11 apiece.

Carolina shot 58.3 percent from the floor in the second half and 51.2 (42 of 80) for the game. The Trojans shot just 28.4 percent for the contest (25 of 88), including 8 of 37 (.216) from three-point range. “according to https://goheels.com/news/2018/11/2/mens-basketball-tar-heels-down-mount-olive-in-exhibition.aspx

UNC out-rebounded Mount Olive, 69-36, but both teams scored 25 second-chance points. The Tar Heels had 26 assists on 41 field goals, but committed 22 turnovers for the game. “according to https://goheels.com/news/2018/11/2/mens-basketball-tar-heels-down-mount-olive-in-exhibition.aspx

"I think we played 12 guys in the first 12 minutes of the game, or something like that," said Williams. "We were trying to get a lot of guys out there and that in itself makes it a little more difficult to get a good flow into the game. I was extremely disappointed with 26 assists and 22 turnovers. That's one of the three things we've been emphasizing more than anything else this preseason, is not turning the ball over so we've got to do a better job there. “according to https://goheels.com/news/2018/11/2/mens-basketball-tar-heels-down-mount-olive-in-exhibition.aspx

"Rebounding – everybody said, 'You really killed them on the boards – 69-36,' and we did not kill them on the boards because they got 25 points on offensive rebounds and we got 25 points on offensive rebounds. You've got to be more productive when you do get the rebounds. Our shot selection wasn't bad, we didn't shoot it very well but the shot selection wasn't nearly as bad as the turnovers and doing a poor job on rebounding." “according to https://goheels.com/news/2018/11/2/mens-basketball-tar-heels-down-mount-olive-in-exhibition.aspx

North Carolina will open up the regular season on Tuesday when they visit Wofford whom they lost to last season in Chapel Hill.

Tip-off is set for 7:00pm from Benjamin Johnson Arena. The game will be televised on ESPN2. “according to https://goheels.com/schedule.aspx?schedule=475
