NC State Tops Wake Forest In Winston Salem For First Atlantic Coast Conference Win Of The Season

The team located in North Carolina’s state capital is now 1-1 on the Atlantic Coast Conference season and 7-2 overall after topping Wake Forest in Winston Salem.

The NC State men's basketball team ad six players reach double figure on Saturday afternoon as the Pack defeated Wake Forest at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

C.J. Bryce led the Pack with 18 points off-the-bench. NC State controlled play for a majority of the first half, stretching out its lead to 15 points on a Hellems jump shot with 3:12 to play. While NC State got their first win of the season in Atlantic Coast Conference play Wake Forest meanwhile now is 5-5 and 0-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

NC State (7-2, 1-1 ACC) opened the game knocking down four consecutive three pointers to take a 14-4 lead. Wake (5-5, 0-2 ACC) finished the opening half on an 8-0 run over 1:20 to pull the Deacs within seven at 43-36. C.J. Bryce hit a jumper as the buzzer sounded to give the Pack a 45-36 advantage at the break. Childress came out strong for the Deacons, scoring 12 points in the first half with perfect accuracy, going 4-4 from the field, 1-1 from three and 3-3 from the line. Behind back-to-back threes from Childress, Wake Forest cut the Pack's lead to five with 29 seconds on the clock.
