Duke Faces North Carolina In The Semifinals Of The Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament With Zion Williamson Back On The Court

On Friday night Duke who is a third seed and North Carolina who is a second seed will meet for the third time this season in the semifinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament in Charlotte. This time however Duke will have the services of Zion Williamson.

When Duke and North Carolina met during the regular season in the first meeting in Durham Zion Williamson was injured in the opening seconds and during the rematch in Chapel Hill he was on the sideline recovering from a knee sprain.

Duke comes into the Atlantic Coast Conference semifinal with a record of 27-5 while they were 14-4 in the Atlantic Coast Conference during the regular season. Like Duke, North Carolina comes into the game with the same overall record at 27-5 while they were 16-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference during the regular season.

As for the first regular season meeting, North Carolina won in Durham.

Maye hit 14 of 24 shots from the floor and finished with 30 points and 15 boards for his 10th double-double of the season. Johnson hit 11 of 17 shots, grabbed seven rebounds and had four assists with no turnovers. The Tar Heels held Duke to 34.7 percent shooting from the floor, including 8 for 39 (20.5 percent) from three-point range. R.J. Barrett had 33 points and 13 rebounds and Cam Reddish scored 27 for Duke. Like Duke , North Carolina won their quarterfinal game to get to the semifinals as they defeated Louisville.
