NC State To Host Hofstra For The NIT

Unlike their tobacco road rivals in Duke and North Carolina NC State did not make the field of sixty 68 for the NCAA Tournament.

Instead they will participate in the NIT.

The NC State men's basketball team (22-11) is a No. 2 seed in the NIT and will host No. 7 seed Hofstra (27-7) Tuesday at 7 p.m. inside James T. Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum. The game will be televised on ESPN2 “according to https://gopack.com/news/2019/3/17/mens-basketball-pack-to-host-hofstra-in-nit.aspx

"Obviously we're very disappointed to not be selected for the NCAA Tournament, but we don't have time to hang our heads and will begin preparing tonight for a very talented Hofstra team. NC State head coach Kevin Keatts said. "I'm familiar with the Hofstra program from my time in the Colonial and they've had a great season this year. They've won 27 games and have the two-time CAA Player of the Year in Justin Wright-Foreman. It will be a great test for our team." “according to https://gopack.com/news/2019/3/17/mens-basketball-pack-to-host-hofstra-in-nit.aspx

This marks the 12th appearance all-time for the Pack and first since 2010. NC State has an all-time record of 16-12 in the NIT and has advanced to the NIT semfinals four times, most recently in 2000.”according to https://gopack.com/news/2019/3/17/mens-basketball-pack-to-host-hofstra-in-nit.aspx
