Boogie Ellis Is No Longer Going To Duke

Duke had Boogie Ellis until they didn’t.

247Sports' Evan Daniels reported Thursday afternoon that four-star guard Boogie Ellis asked to be released from his Letter of Intent. Team spokesman Mike DeGeorge confirmed the report and stated that Ellis has officially been granted his release.

Ellis committed to the Blue Devils back in November, prior to commitments from higher-rated recruits Matthew Hurt and Cassius Stanley, in addition to the return of point guard Tre Jones for his sophomore season.

According to ESPN, Ellis was also considering and had offers from Arizona, Georgia Tech, Gonzaga, Memphis, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, San Diego State and Southern California at the time of his commitment.
