BASKETBALL

Dear Section 8 Row C Seat 17,

Dear Section 8 Row C Seat 17,

In 1999 I went to my first game!

Where?

At Cameron Indoor Stadium where I sat with the guy who made me the Duke fan I am today and his best friend!

Twenty one years later as the Duke Men’s Basketball team tips off their 2020-2021 season it’s going to be different!

Why?

Because I won’t be in my usual seat cheering on the Duke Men’s Basketball team through victory and defeat with my dad and his best friend! I won’t be taking off my Duke sweatshirt to get some relief from the heat that Cameron Indoor Stadium brings when there are 9,314 fans (Cameron Crazies ) in the stands! I won’t be able to feel the groaned shake under me when there are 9,314 fans (Cameron Crazies) cheering on the Duke Men’s Basketball when they’re way ahead or behind and trying to comeback! I won’t be walking out of Section 8 Row C little bit before halftime to go try to beat Women’s restroom line and make it back to Section 8, Row C Seat 17 to see both teams warm up and watch the second half! I won’t be making the walk to and from the Chemistry Lot where we park for Duke Men’s Basketball games and that I will miss!

Why?

Because for twenty one years of my life that is what I have known every Duke Men’s Basketball season since my mom gave up her ticket and I attended my first Duke Men’s Basketball game at Cameron Indoor Stadium which happened to be a Duke, North Carolina game that got be hooked on Duke and sports in general!

This season as stated above is going to different!

Why? Because I won’t be watching and cheering on the Duke Men’s Basketball in person and Cameron Indoor Stadium but I will get to watch my favorite collegiate basketball team with the guy who took me to my first Duke Basketball game at Cameron Indoor Stadium, who made me the Duke fan I am today along with my dad’s best friend! And I hope when 2021-2022 season rolls around that I will be able to be back in my seat inside Cameron Indoor Stadium cheering on the Duke Men’s Basketball once again!

Where?

In person in Section 8, Row C Seat 17!
