North Carolina And Wake Forest Look To Get Back On Track In Winston Salem

Twenty one days is what separates the first matchup when North Carolina who is unranked heads to Winston Salem to take on Wake Forest and the rematch when Wake Forest heads to Chapel Hill on March 3rd.

On Tuesday night though it will be North Carolina doing the traveling as they will head to Winston Salem for the first matchup of the season against Wake Forest.

In this game both teams will be looking to snap their losing streaks as North Carolina will look to snap their three game losing streak while Wake Forest will look to snap their two game losing streak.

As for North Carolina’s previous game,

They lost their third straight and their first meeting against tobacco road rival Duke over the weekend in Chapel Hill as Duke knocked them off in overtime by a score of 98-96.

Like North Carolina, Wake Forest lost their previous game but unlike North Carolina Wake Forest lost on the road. 
Wake Forest men's basketball suffered a 75-73 loss to Syracuse in a back-and-forth battle on Saturday night at the Carrier Dome.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

Both teams got off to a slow start offensively, with the Deacs holding a 4-2 lead after the first four minutes before Syracuse went on an 14-0 run to open up a 16-4 lead.  The Orange held the lead around 10 points for the remainder of the first half before taking a 38-30 lead into the break. The Orange opened the second half on an 8-0 run to take a 46-30 lead before the Deacs countered with a 9-0 run of their own.  A 7-0 run by the Deacs cut the lead to three at 54-51 with 12:40 to go. The Orange led 62-53 midway through the second half before the Deacs responded with a 12-1 run to take the lead, 65-63, with 6:30 to play.  The game was tied 65-65 with 5:42 to play when Marek Dolezaj got a technical foul, which was his fifth personal, becoming the third Cuse player to foul out. The Deacs held that 69-65 lead at the final media timeout but the Orange used free throws to tie the game with 2:20 left, 69-69. Wake Forest trailed 73-70 and had the ball with 30 seconds to play when Ismael Massoud hit a three to tie the game with 20 seconds to go.
