Today The Atlantic Coast Conference Adapted Their Forfeit Rule To Teams With 7 Healthy Scholarship Players, 1 Healthy Coach Can Play On The Hardwood

During the 2019-2020 basketball season on the hardwood if members of a team of the Atlantic Coast Conference tested positive for the coronavirus the team had to forfeit.

Today the Atlantic Coast Conference adapted the forfeit to teams with 1 healthy coach, 7 scholarship players can play on the hardwood.

The new rule stipulates that as long as a team has seven available scholarship players, one coach they’re deemed available to play. If a team does not have that number of participants the game is going to be declared a no contest that previously was a forefeit.

However, if a team does meet the requirements, decides not to play the result would be a forfeit.
