Is Duke Or Syracuse Going To Extend Their Winning Streak To Four Games When The Two Atlantic Coast Conference Teams Matchup Tonight In Durham?

Is Duke or Syracuse going to extend their winning streak to four games when the two Atlantic Coast Conference teams matchup tonight in Durham?

Right now I don’t know the answer to that question!

What I do know is this!

That Duke who comes into the game with a record of 10-8 while they’re 8-6 in the Atlantic Coast Conference and eighth in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings and Syracuse who comes into the game with a record of 13-6 while they’re 7-5 in the Atlantic Coast Conference and seventh in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings are both on three game winning streaks!

Why?

Duke defeated NC State in North Carolina’s state capital on Saturday February 13, 2021 by a score of 69-53!

In that game Matthew Hurt scored 24 points , Mark Williams contributed five blocks and thirteen points and Duke went on a 22-4 run to defeat NC State. “according to an article on goduke.com”

Then, Duke defeated Wake Forest by a score 84-60!

When?

On Wednesday February 17, 2021!

Where?

Winston- Salem North Carolina!

In that game Matthew Hurt scored 22 points on 8-of-9 shooting, freshman DJ Steward added 16 points and Duke never trailed in its 84-60 win over Wake Forest on Wednesday night.

Junior Joey Baker hit 4 of 7 from three-point range and finished with 12 points for Duke (9-8, 7-6 ACC). Sophomore Wendell Moore Jr. scored 11 points.

Wake Forest went scoreless for nearly five minutes as Duke scored 12 consecutive points to make it 29-13 when senior Jordan Goldwire hit a three-pointer with 7:18 left in the first half, and the Blue Devils led by double figures the rest of the way.

Ody Oguama led the Demon Deacons (6-10, 3-10 ACC) with 14 points and Daivion Williamson scored 12. Ian DuBose — a graduate transfer from Houston and a Durham, N.C., native — had 10 points and eight rebounds in his first game against the Blue Devils.

Duke has won back-to-back games following a three-game skid in which the Blue Devils allowed 83.7 points per game. They held NC State to a season-low 53 points on Saturday and limited Wake Forest to just 39 percent shooting Wednesday.

Duke shot 33-of-61 (.541) from the field and 11-of-25 (.440) from beyond the arc. “according to goduke.com”

Then, they topped seventh ranked Virginia in Durham North Carolina by a score of 66-65 on Saturday!

Jaemyn Brakefield scored the go-ahead basket on a reverse layup with 1:58 left and Duke came up with a final-possession stop to upset No. 7 Virginia, 66-65, on Saturday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Matthew Hurt cored 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting to lead the Blue Devils (10-8, 8-6 ACC), who claimed a much-needed third straight win over a conference opponent.

Brakefield's scoring drive, while drawing a foul on Jay Huff, finally got Duke a slim lead. Freshman DJ Steward had a chance to increase the margin, but missed the front end of a 1-and-1 free throw opportunity with 9.6 seconds left.

Huff got the rebound and got the ball to Kihei Clark, who bobbled the dribble at the other end and had to force up an off-balance three-point attempt over Hurt to beat the clock. Hurt got a hand on the shot, which came up short as time expired.

Huff finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Cavaliers (15-5, 11-3 ACC), while Sam Hauser went for 19 on 7-of-11 shooting with eight boards.

Brakefield posted a career-high four blocks to go with 11 points and five rebounds. Freshman Jeremy Roach netted 12 points and dished out three assists, and sophomore Wendell Moore Jr. recorded a game-high seven assists with four points and five rebounds.

It was the fifth time in seven meetings between the teams that the game was decided by one or two points. “according to an article on goduke.com”

Like Duke,

Coming into this game Syracuse who has a record of 13-6 while they’re 7-5 in Atlantic Coast Conference and seventh in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings and like Duke Syracuse is on a three game winning streak!

Why?

Because they defeated NC State by a score 77-68 on Saturday February 9, 2021!

In that game A 22-point performance from Alan Griffin powered Syracuse (11-6, 5-5 ACC) past NC State (8-8, 4-7 ACC), 77-68, on Tuesday evening in Raleigh.

HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED
With the Orange clinging to a 67-64 advantage, Syracuse scored eight unanswered points to push its lead to 75-64 with 1:49 left in regulation. Buddy Boehim hit a jumper in the lane, Griffin scored on a put-back from his own miss and Quiny Guerrier tallied in the paint to start the run. Kadary Richmond finished it off with two free throws.

In addition to Griffin's output, Boeheim (16 points) and Guerrier (14 points) both finished with double-digit point totals. Guerrier also led Syracuse on the glass with seven rebounds. The Orange defense played a pivotal role in the road victory by forcing 20 turnovers over the course of the contest. Richmond, who entered the game averaging 2.0 steals per contest, had three thefts to go along with eight points.

Then,

Syracuse defeated Boston College by a score of 75-67 on Saturday February 13, 2021!

Where?

Syracuse New York where all five starters scored in double-figures for Syracuse (12-6, 6-5 ACC) as it secured the season sweep against Boston College (3-13, 1-9 ACC)

With Syracuse holding to a 71-65 advantage with one minute remaining in regulation, Syracuse made all four of its free throws down the stretch to secure the home-court triumph. The Orange improved their 2020-21 Carrier Dome record to 10-1 with the triumph.

And on Saturday Syracuse defeated Notre Dame by a score of 75-67!

The difference?

Syracuse had to comeback from twenty points down to beat Notre Dame!

How did they comeback?

Syracuse outscored Notre Dame 40-12 the remainder of the contest! “according to an article on cuse.com”

If Syracuse is down by double digits against Duke tonight will they be able to comeback and win?

Right now I don’t know the answer to that question!

What I do know is that both Atlantic Coast Conference teams are looking to extend their winning streaks to four games!

Tipoff is set for 7:00pm from Cameron Indoor Stadium!

The game is going to be televised on ESPN!
