Henry Coleman III Is Transferring To Texas A&M After Playing One Season At Duke

That was how many seasons Henry Coleman III played at Duke for Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski!

Why?

Because the freshman forward entered the transfer portal!

April 20, 2021!

Henry Coleman III had this to say about entering the transfer portal!

I want to thank Duke University for the opportunity to be a part of this program," said Coleman. "Since the season ended, I have had discussions with my family and my coaches at Duke, and have decided to enter my name in the transfer portal. I'm so appreciative for what the coaching staff, the support staff and so many others on campus have done not only for me, but for all of my teammates. The relationships that I have built will be with me forever. Lastly, I want to show my love for the Duke fans who stuck with us throughout this unusual season. Although you weren't able to see us in person, your support meant so much. Thank you Duke."

Henry Coleman III Appeared in 19 games including each of the final 11 contests of the season

  • Shot 10-of-20 (.500) from the field and averaged 1.1 points with 1.4 rebounds per contest

  • Made his Duke debut in the season-opening win over Coppin State (11/28)

  • Went 2-of-3 from the field for four points with two rebounds against Bellarmine (12/4)

  • Provided a spark off the bench against North Carolina (2/6), scoring four points, dishing out two assists, grabbing two boards and blocking a shot in 13 minutes

  • Scored four points on 2-of-2 from the field, collected two rebounds and had a blocked shot in five minutes in the win over No. 7 Virginia (2/20)

  • Brought down a career-high five rebounds and added another blocked shot versus Syracuse (2/22)

  • Contributed four points, five rebounds and two blocks off the bench in the ACC Tournament win over Boston College (3/9)

  • Matched career highs of four points and five boards, while setting a career high in minutes (15) in the BC victory

    Henry Coleman III announced where he is transferring!

    He is transferring to Texas A&M!

    There he will play for Head Coach Buzz Williams who is familiar with players and teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference!

    Why?

    Because Buzz Williams was the Head Coach of Virginia Tech for five seasons before being hired by Texas A&M on April 3, 2019 as their 22nd Head Coach of the Texas A&M Men’s Basketball Program!

    As the Head Coach of Virginia Tech Buzz Williams led Virginia Tech to four consecutive 20-win seasons and four consecutive 10-win seasons in Atlantic Coast Conference play. In 2018-19 Williams guided a nationally-ranked Tech team to a 26-9 record, finishing 12-6 in the ACC. The Hokies earned a 4-seed in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Sweet 16 for just the second time in program history. Williams earned his 100thvictory as the head coach at Virginia Tech when the Hokies knocked off Liberty in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
