Walker Kessler Returning To North Carolina To Play For Hubert Davis?

One season!

That was how many seasons Walker Kessler played on the hardwood for North Carolina.

Why?

Because the freshman forward has entered the transfer portal after one season at North Carolina.

Why?

Walker Kessler had this to say about his decision!

While this season did not go as planned for our entire basketball community, the relationships that I have been able to develop this year will forever mean the world to me," Kessler said. "I am honored to have played for an amazing and historic program like The University of North Carolina. Gratitude is all I feel for my teammates, coaches, trainers, administration, and staff. During a very difficult year for all of us, they were able to help me to grow as a player and most importantly as a person.

"After careful and calculated consideration I will be entering the transfer portal. I wish the entire Carolina family the absolute best in the years ahead. Thank you TarHeel Nation!"

However,

Could Walker Kessler return to North Carolina?

Right now I don’t know the answer to that question!

But what I do know is that Hubert Davis who was named the next head coach this week wants Walker Kessler to return?

Why?

Hubert Davis had this to say about Walker Kessler!

"I want Walker here," Davis said about the Tar Heel freshman that entered the transfer portal last month. "He's a Carolina guy. I've enjoyed being one of his coaches last year. He's a wonderful kid. Can't think of anybody better to be around. A unbelievable, charismatic personality. Somebody that just wants to get better and work every day.

"Kessler is a Carolina guy. I sent him a text last night ... and I have a phone call with him later today. And what I'm going to tell him is I want him back here at Carolina. He's a Tar Heel, he's always a Tar Heel, he needs to come back here, and this is the right place for him. We would love to have Walker Kessler and his family back in Chapel Hill and back at UNC."
