Jaden Schutt who is a shooting guard became the third recruit to commit to Duke, Jon Scheyer for the class of 2022!

Because on Thursday July 29, 2021 Kyle Filipowski made history!
How?
He became Jon Scheyer’s inaugural recruit to commit to Duke when Jon Scheyer takes over the program as Head Coach starting in April 2022 for Mike Kryzewski who is retiring after the 2021 -2022 season!

Kyle Filipowski had this to say about committing to Duke, Jon Scheyer!
"At the end of the day, they just checked all of the boxes for me," Filipowski told ESPN. "They are a national-level team, my academics were very important to me, and I had a good feel for the environment and campus. Just being around that type of environment and having those relationships, I really feel like when I'm done with my time at Duke I'll be the best version of myself, both on and off the court. I can just envision myself growing there with the people I'm surrounding myself with."

Kyle Filipowski is from New York but attends Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Wilbraham Massachusetts.
Kyle Filipowski is ranked No. 20 overall in the ESPN 100 for the 2022 class. He's considered a top-five player at his position. In eight games with the New York Rens grassroots program on the Nike EYBL circuit, Filipowski averaged 13.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists, shooting 58.3% from the field and 46.2% from 3-point range on 13 attempts.

On Sunday August 1, 2021 Dariq Whitehead who is a Small Forward and currently attends Montverde Academy in Newark New Jersey became the second recruit to commit to Duke, Jon Scheyer who will take over as Head Coach of Duke April 2022.
Dariq Whitehead had this to say about committing to Duke!
Growing up, Duke has always been the school of my dreams," Whitehead told ESPN. "I loved Coach K, the style of play and the type of players he recruited. Once my recruiting process began, I started having mixed feelings seeing all the other opportunities out there. I was getting so much love from different schools it made my decision hard. It wasn't until my official visit, the moment I stepped foot on campus, I knew Duke was home."

"It was just the relationship with the coaching staff; they never really pressured me," Schutt told ESPN. "I just felt I could talk to them about anything, I just enjoyed talking to them. It didn't feel like I was being recruited. They made me feel like a priority, but it felt all genuine. I just believe in coach [Jon] Scheyer and the vision he has for me fits the same vision I have for myself."
