NC State's Losing Streak Was Extended To Five Games Because They Lost To Florida State On Saturday In Raleigh 81-83

NC State’s losing streak was extended to five games because they lost to Florida State on Saturday in North Carolina’s state capital 81-83.

In NC State’s 81-83 loss to Florida State NC State led for over 25 minutes in the game, but after taking a 75-74 lead on a Dereon Seabron lay-up with 1:50 to play, Florida State rattled off a 9-3 run to win.
Terquavion Smith added 23 points, hitting 8-of-15 shots, including 7-of-13 from three-point range. The seven three-pointers are the most by an NC State player since Allerik Freeman made seven in the Pack's win at North Carolina on Jan. 27, 2018.

Seabron and Smith combined for 30 of NC State's 40 points in the second half.

Florida State led by two at the break, 43-41, but NC State scored the first six points of the second half to force a Seminoles timeout.

FSU battled back to tie the game at 51, but a 7-0 Pack run, capped by a Breon Pass three-pointer, gave NC State a 58-51 lead with 11:23 to go. Pass' basket were the last points scored for NC State by a player that wasn't Seabron or Smith.

The Seminoles quickly came back, going on a 10-2 run and taking the lead on a Matthew Cleveland jumper with 8:07 to go.

Florida State would extend the lead to five, and the run to 16-4, on a Cleveland lay-up with 5:37 to go.

After an NC State timeout, Seabron scored the next five points in the game to tie the score at 67 with 5:03 to play.

The team's would exchange the lead five times over the next five minutes as neither team had a lead larger than one possession until Florida State hit two free throws with four seconds to play.

Osborne led four Florida State players in double figures with 19 points.

NC State is now going to prepare for Virginia Tech whom they play twice this regular season!

Their first match up is Tuesday in Blacksburg!
