Mike Krzyzewski is retiring after the 2021-2022 season!
Why?
Mike Krzyzewski had this to say about his decision!
You might ask, 'Why are you doing this right now?' Look, this is not about health. Mickie and I, whether we look it or not -- she does -- whether I look healthy ... I am. It's not about COVID or saying, 'Boy, that year was so bad.' It's not about that. It's certainly not about what's going on with college basketball. 'Boy, the game is changing.' All right. I've been in it for 46 years. You think the game has never changed?"
He later added: "Those aren't the reasons. ... The reason we're doing this is because Mickie and I have decided the journey is going to be over in a year. And we're going to go after it as hard as we possibly can."

As Mike Krzyzewski coached his final game in Chapel Hill from the sideline Saturday at the Dean E. Smith Center the 2021-2022 Duke team sent him out on top with an 87-67 victory.
Why?
In Duke’s 87-57 win over North Carolina AJ Griffin scored a career high 27 points. Duke shot 58% and took all drama out of the renewal of the famed rivalry early in both halves, both in building a big lead and then stretching it back out after the Tar Heels had made a run to climb back in it. Paolo Banchero had a double double with 13 points, 10 rebounds! Wendell Moore Jr. like Paolo Banchero scored 13 points but unlike Paolo Banchero Wendell Moore Jr contributed 8 boards 5 assists.
Mike Krzyzewski had this to say to David Shumate the voice of Duke Men’s Basketball about Duke’s 87-57 victory over North Carolina in Chapel Hill “We really played well - what a performance by AJ - he just kept coming. Whether it’s the last time or 12th time it’s great to leave with a win - there have been some incredible games here and it’s been an honor to be a part of them.”
Though, they can’t celebrate the win over North Carolina for long as Mike Krzyzewski, his team have to prepare to host Virginia for a Big Monday match up in Durham tomorrow night that is going to be televised on ESPN.
Tip off is set for 7:00pm from Cameron Indoor Stadium!
