Pete Nance, Ryan Young are going from teammates at Northwestern to opponents at North Carolina, Duke next season.

Why?

Pete Nance initially entered his name in NBA Draft but opted to withdraw before early entry deadline to play one more season of College Basketball.

Pete Nance had this to say about his time at Northwestern!

My Northwestern family, thank you all so much for the last four years, and for forming me into the man I am today," Nance said in his tweet. "We've been through some high highs, and some low lows, but all for an experience that I wouldn't trade for the world. To my coaches, support staff, and teammates, thank you all for supporting and encouraging me throughout my career, and making memories that will last a lifetime. I'm super proud to say that I have graduated from such an amazing university like Northwestern."

Ryan Young had this to say about his time at Northwestern!

My four years at Northwestern have been the most fun and impactful years of my life I have cherished every second of being apart of the Northwestern community and basketball team at one of the top schools in the nation . I am grateful to Coach Collins , Brian James and the rest of the staff at Northwestern for giving me the opportunity to compete at the highest level and allow me to learn and grow as a player and a person. I truly would not be the individual I am today without the positive impact that my teammates, coaches and overall Northwestern community have had on me. Thank you Northwestern for more then I could have ever expected. Thank you to all the coaches that invested their time and effort into recruiting me through this process . After graduation this June, I have committed to Duke University to play out the remainder of eligibility and pursue a masters degree. I am ecstatic about this opportunity and I can’t wait to get to work.

After Ryan Young committed to Duke to play for Head Coach Scheyer Ryan Young’s teammate at Northwestern Pete Nance had this to say via his social media account on Twitter”

This dude is destined for greatness! Love you bro!

Super excited for you!

What is Ryan Young’s response going to be of his former teammate Pete Nance transferring to North Carolina?

That I may never know the answer to though, one thing I know is that during the 2022-2023 College Basketball season two former teammates at Northwestern are going to be playing one another twice during the regular season because each team host one game. In 2021-2022 season Duke went to Chapel Hill on February 5, 2022 then hosted North Carolina for the regular season finale on March 5, 2022. What does that mean for the 2022-2023 season?

Duke is likely going to host North Carolina for the first match up of the regular season before North Carolina host the rematch.

When?

Who knows as the schedule has yet to have been announced, released as it’s only the month of June!
